Mastercard hosts targeted fintech talent event in London
Homecoming Revolution recently hosted a targeted talent event in London for leading global payments and technology company Mastercard to encourage top Nigerian fintech talent to return home.
The event, which took place on 14 December at The Park Plaza Victoria, was titled ‘Connecting you to priceless possibilities in Africa’ and aimed to inform the audience of the exciting career prospects for diaspora professionals with fintech skills.
Each candidate in attendance was carefully selected according to Mastercard’s specific talent requirements.
Omoke Adebanjo, Mastercard Vice President, Cluster Head, West Africa, gave the audience insight into the company’s West Africa operation, while Raghav Prasad, Mastercard Executive Vice President, Division President Sub-Saharan Africa, provided the candidates with an overview of the Sub-Saharan African Division and shared how the business in Africa contributes to the overall Mastercard MEA strategy.
Other Mastercard employees in attendance included Ngozi Megwa, Mastercard Vice President, Market Development, Sub-Saharan Africa, Obi Okwuegbunam, Mastercard Business Development West Africa and Carys Richards, Mastercard Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Middle East and Africa.

A candidate who attended the event said he found it useful to speak to people on the ground.

Another candidate said it was inspirational to see how passionate the Mastercard team was.
“The event was so interesting and gave me a lot of food for thought.”
The Sub Saharan Division of Mastercard operates in 32 countries organised into three areas West Africa, East Africa & French Sub Saharan Africa. The company is also introducing new technologies that are rapidly closing the gap between the banked and unbanked on the African continent. Alternative delivery channels pioneered by MasterCard such as m-commerce, e-commerce, contactless technology and digital wallet services, are helping financially-underserved consumers gain access to formal financial services.
