Executives on the move: Ellerman House GM

Paul Bruce-Brand has joined Ellerman House as General Manager. Paul will focus on driving the world-renowned hotel to even greater heights.

“We went through an extensive process to find the right person to take the hotel to even greater heights,” comments Paul Harris, owner of Ellerman House.

Paul Bruce-Brand comments, “Having a history in Human Resources I have dealt with many recruitment companies. I have never encountered a more thorough and professional company than Homecoming Revolution.  What I really like, is that they are so much more than a normal headhunting firm. They have such a drive for making a real difference to this continent and this passion is strongly evident in all interactions with them. In recruiting a candidate they’re able to see the bigger picture, realising that there’s more to finding the right person than simply choosing someone who ticks all the boxes”, he continues.

Paul Bruce-Brand is passionate about hospitality and enhancing the guest experience at Ellerman House. At the same time, he comes from a strong Human Resources background and is equally focused on the staff. Prior to his 6 years at Seasons in Africa where he managed the Hollow on the Square Hotel and the Cape Town Hollow, Paul was an HR Manager at Sun International and an HR Practitioner at Anglo American. Paul is enthusiastic about building a unified team of motivated people working together to create an unforgettable and unmatched experience for guests.

Firstly it’s the most beautiful property imaginable with owners who are passionate about our country, and it represents everything great about South Africa. Secondly, one can get to really know the guests and become lifelong friends. It’s not pie in the sky, it’s the reality of working here.  Thirdly it’s a massive daily challenge to do justice to this property and I relish challenges,” comments Paul Bruce-Brand.
